On February 23, DRC President Tshisekedi attended the completion ceremony of Phase I of the water supply project in Ozone, where he cut the ribbon and unveiled the project.

Also present at the completion ceremony were the DRC Prime Minister, the President of the Senate, the President of the National Assembly, the President of the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Judges, the Minister of Water Resources and Electricity, diplomats, members of the board of directors of the water company, representatives of the World Bank, the general manager of the project owner and other dignitaries. Tu Dajun, Chairman of WIETC DR Congo, was invited to attend the completion ceremony.

At the ceremony, the Minister of Water Resources and Electricity, the general manager of the National Water Company and the representatives of the World Bank delivered speeches, expressing their congratulations on project completion and good expectations for the continuous improvement of the living standards of local residents. Tu Dajun, Chairman of WIETC DR Congo, was invited to deliver a speech on behalf of the company, and expressed his gratitude to the President, Prime Minister, government officials, project owner and supervision team for their strong support to the project. He said that WIETC has always been committed to serving the local government and local people, and constantly improving the local infrastructures. We are always ready to give full play to our rich experience and management and technical advantages in the field of engineering construction to assist the DR Congo government to complete more projects that are beneficial to the well-being of the local people.

After the ceremony, the President and his delegation, accompanied by the General Manager of the DR Congo Water Company, visited and inspected facilities such as the central control room, secondary distribution well, filter tank and water pump room. President Tshisekedi congratulated the successful completion of Phase I of the Ozone water supply project and expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the water plant, the automation level and the quality of drinking water.

With a daily water output of 110,000m3, Phase I of the Ozone water project in DR Congo is a large-scale water plant funded by the World Bank. It is a major livelihood project of the DR Congo government. The successful completion and operation of the first phase of the project has provided safe drinking water for 1.5 million people in Kinshasa, significantly improving the local residents' access to clean water.
