Director-General Wu, Ambassador Xiao and the delegation visited the entrance hall of the main building, the underground circular meeting room, the inner ring corridor, the third-floor office and the outdoor landscape, and listened to the reports on the scale and progress of the project. In the inner ring corridor, Director-General Wu mainly learned about the waterproof practice of the landscape roof around the circular meeting room, and highly praised the company's strict measures in construction quality control.
In the reception lobby on the third-floor, Director-General Wu and Ambassador Xiao listened to the report on the project operation model and the company's business in Africa. Wu said it will become increasingly difficult to develop the African engineering market due to debts and other problems. However, the operation model of the UN Office Building Project can be applied more widely to other projects. They hoped the company could continue to work hard to explore the African market and play a better role as the bond between China and Africa. Ambassador Xiao expressed his gratitude to WIETC for its continued support to the work of the Chinese Embassy and wished a smooth delivery of the UN Office Building Project, which would become a new landmark in Senegal.
