As the last bucket of concrete was poured into the dosing room of the water treatment plant on May 8, all the single main structures in phase I of the Ozone Water Project in DR Congo were completed. On the same day, the project team held a ceremony attended by Mr. Tu Dajun, the chairman of WIETC Zhengwei DR Congo, Yu Qinghua, the general manager, and managers of of relevant departments to celebrate the milestone accomplishment of the project.
With a daily water treatment capacity of 110,000 m3, the project includes a water source plant, a water treatment plant, a water intake trestle, 780m river-crossing pipeline, 1.8m diameter self-anchored ductile iron water intake pipeline, 1.2m diameter HDPE sewage pipeline, 1.4m diameter stainless steel water transmission pipeline, etc. The concrete pouring volume is 24,000 m3. All of the facilities, ranging from the water source plant to the water treatment plant, adopt the automatic control process design. There were many disciplines involved and the construction was difficult, with insufficient experience to learn from. Working and learning at the same time, the project team has overcome many difficulties and completed the main structure 20 days ahead of schedule as required by the owner, taking a key step towards the overall completion of the project.
