Water Supply Project in Kikwit Passed the Completion Acceptance in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
On August 18, 2021, the project owners, the supervisor and KfW (German bank) jointly organized the completion acceptance ceremony in which the water supply project in Kikwit in the Democratic Republic of the Congo passed the final acceptance.
The water supply project in Kikwit is funded by the KfW. The project includes the construction of three pump stations, seven water wells, ten pools and one water tower. Besides, 285 new water intake points, 486 special branch pipes, 134 valve control wells, three medium pressure equipment stations and purification rooms, and about 130,000 meters of the water supply pipe, aiming to solve the water supply problem for 400,000 local people.
The project has received praises from the Water Company of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, KfW and the supervisor. It is also welcomed and praised by residents and media.
Local people feel so happy after having water supply
The Chinese technicians unreservedly taught local employees relevant skills and built a deep friendship with them.
Over the past three years, all parties in the project have been working together sincerely and overcoming all difficulties to ensure the success of the project.
Thanks to the unremitting efforts, the project passed the completion acceptance on August 18, 2021.
